Jane Henry Scholarship – Josephine Howe – CMAC Athlete
Josie grew up in Seattle, WA and began ski racing with the Crystal Mt. Alpine Club at a young age. She will be attending St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. Josie has been accepted into the direct-entry nursing program and has a spot on the St. Olaf Alpine Ski Team. PNWSEF is proud of all the accomplishments Josie has had as a student, a mentor to others, and as a ski racer.
R. Dean Palmer Scholarship – Quinten Koch, PVNT
Quinten grew up in Arizona and never saw snow until he was 7 years old. As a young child his aspirations were to become a professional tennis player. Moving to Washington changed his trajectory.
Quinten joined Plain Valley Nordic Team at the age of 12 and has quickly moved up in the national rankings. He credits much of his success to his older friend and team mate Buster, who acted as a mentor and encouraged him to reach for the stars.
Quinten will be attending Dartmouth College this fall, attending classes and racing on the Dartmouth X-Country team. Congratulations Quinten!
